Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) invites applications for Engineer Trainee positions for 2026 through GATE 2026 scores in Electrical, Electronics, Civil, and Computer Science disciplines. Selected candidates will receive a starting pay scale of ₹40,000 - ₹1,40,000 during training with an approximate CTC of ₹11.00 lakhs per annum during training and ₹22.50 lakhs per annum after successful training. The upper age limit is 28 years as on 31.12.2025 with relaxations as per Govt rules, and an application fee of ₹500 applies for General/OBC/EWS candidates (SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM are exempted).

Eligibility
Candidates must have appeared and qualified in the corresponding paper of GATE 2026 (EE, EC, CE, CS) with a Full Time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) degree in relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Pay scale
₹40,000/- - 3% - ₹1,40,000/- (IDA) during training, and ₹50,000/- - 3% - ₹1,60,000/- (IDA) (E2 scale) upon absorption.
Selection process
Based on marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2026 (85% weightage), Group Discussion (3% weightage), and Personal Interview (12% weightage). Candidates must also qualify in the Personal Interview separately.

- Visit the POWERGRID official website career section during the tentative application window (February/March 2026).
- Fill in the online application form with your GATE 2026 Application Number, Registration Number, and other required details.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- online (exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM).
- Submit the application and retain confirmation details along with GATE admit and score cards.
