National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam, in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, has invited applications for 6 Lawyer Fellows for a one-year, field-embedded fellowship programme. Eligible early-career advocates with 2 to 5 years of continuous practice in Assam can apply by emailing their application dossier to [email protected] before 03 October 2026. Selected fellows will receive a stipend/financial support and structured mentorship.

Eligibility
Enrolled as an advocate with a State Bar Council, 2 to 5 years of continuous practice as on the last date for applications, currently practising in Assam, with proven engagement in trial / lower-court litigation, legal aid, or rights-based / community work.

Pay scale

Selection process
Shortlisting on the basis of prior commitment to legal aid, rights-based advocacy or community engagement, followed by a two-stage interview (one online and one in-person) before a panel of senior advocates, academics and representatives of the Legal Services Authorities.
